This policy explains what personal information laanuk collects through this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We've kept it short and in plain English.

Who we are

This website is run by laanuk ("we", "us"). We are responsible for (the "controller" of) the personal information described here. If you have any questions about it, email us at laanuk@nayee.com.

What we collect and why

  • Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we collect your first name, your email address and, if you choose to fill it in, what you're stuck on. If you arrived through one of our tagged links (for example from YouTube or Instagram), we also note which one, so we know where people find us. We use this to send you a confirmation email, a welcome email and updates about laanuk, including when places open. We do this with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • What you're stuck on. This box is optional, so only share what you're comfortable with. If you tell us about your health or anything else personal, we'll only use it to understand how we can help you, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Emails you send us. If you email us, we use your email address and anything you include in your message to reply to you. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
  • Website visits. When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe, working website.

We don't take payments on this website, and we never sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

  • Kit (ConvertKit) runs our waitlist and email list, so your waitlist details (your name, email address, your answer about what you're stuck on and the link you came from) are stored with Kit. Kit is based in the United States, so your information may be transferred outside the UK. See Kit's privacy policy.
  • Our website hosting provider stores the website and its technical logs.
  • YouTube (Google), if you watch the videos on our Content or thank-you page (see below).

We only share what each provider needs to do its job.

YouTube videos

Our Content and thank-you pages include embedded YouTube videos. They use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube (owned by Google) doesn't store cookies on your device just because the page loads. If you play a video, YouTube may set cookies and collect information about your device and what you watch. This is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Both pages also link to our YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and X profiles. These are plain links: nothing is shared with those sites unless you click through, and then their own privacy policies apply.

Audio testimonials

The audio testimonials on our home page are stored on our own website and only play when you press play. They don't use any third-party tracking.

Cookies

We don't use advertising cookies. Our website may use small, strictly necessary cookies to make it work. YouTube and Kit may set their own cookies or store small bits of information in your browser when you use their features on our site (for example, Kit remembers that you've already signed up). If you arrive through one of our tagged links, we save which link it was in your browser's storage (not a cookie) so it can be added to your waitlist details if you join. It isn't shared with anyone else, and you can remove it by clearing your browser data. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist details, including your answer and the link you came from: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Emails: only as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and normally no longer than 12 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it if it's wrong
  • ask us to delete it
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
  • ask us to send it to you or another organisation in a usable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing)

To use any of these rights, email laanuk@nayee.com. We'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
